Moët & Chandon Diamond Jubilee Cuvee

Moët & Chandon is toasting their relationship with the Queen by producing an exclusive “Diamond Jubilee Cuvee”.

Moët & Chandon has held the Royal Warrant since 1893 during the Queen Victoria period.  This recognition was reaffirmed in 1955 when Moët & Chandon was granted the Royal Warrant by HM Queen Elizabeth II, which has been maintained over the last fifty-seven years.

Moët & Chandon has created exclusive cuvees for both the Silver and Golden Jubilee celebrations. On this occasion, the Royal Household has given approval for the bottles to be sold. Diamond Jubilee bottles of Moët & Chandon Impérial will be available to purchase at Waitrose, Fortnum & Mason, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Harrods and Berry Brothers & Rudd.

Moet & Chandon’s Oscar Cocktail Contest

Moet & Chandon is holding a competition to find the best “Oscar Cocktail” and the winning drink will be served at the Governors Ball. The winner will also receive tickets to a behind-the-scenes “Oscar weekend” with bleacher seats on the red carpet, and much more.

The winner will be determined by the number of “likes” received along with a panel of judges. Judges include: renowned mixologist and cocktail writer, Lindsay Nader; Moët & Chandon USA’s Vice President, Ludovic du Plessis; Oscar-nominated costume designer and Chair of the Academy’s Governors Ball, Jeffrey Kurland; and chef, and host of the Cooking Chanel’s FoodCrafters, Aida Mollenkamp.

Moët Hennessy’s Profits Rise 18% In 2011

Moët Hennessy’s net revenue increased 8% to €3.52 billion ($4.62b) in 2011, as profits from recurring operations for the year jumped 18% to €1.1 billion ($1.44b). Fourth-quarter revenue was up 9.4% to €1.21 billion ($1.59b).

Moët Hennessy attributed trading up in the Champagne business as well as strong upward momentum by Hennessy Cognac over the past year as key growth factors.

Moët Hennessy’s company-wide Champagne volume (led by Moet & Chandon and Veuve Clicquot) rose 0.5% to 4.6 million cases globally last year, according to Impact Databank.

Moet & Chandon is returning as the official Champagne of the 69th Annual Golden Globe® Awards, which is produced by Dick Clark Productions and in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). In a toast to its 21st year with the iconic awards ceremony, Moet & Chandon will introduce their award-winning 2002 Grand Vintage Champagne with a celebratory toast at this year’s Golden Globe Awards nominations announcement which will be lead by HFPA president, Dr. Aida Takla-O’Reilly and Ludovic du Plessis, vice president of Moet & Chandon USA.

“Moet & Chandon has celebrated the magic of cinema for nearly a century, and we look forward to continuing to host and toast cinema icons in its legendary spirit of success and glamour at the Golden Globes,” said Ludovic du Plessis, Vice President of Moet & Chandon USA.

The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards will mark the first time that Moet & Chandon will serve Grand Vintage champagne from customized magnums created specifically for the occasion.

Over 1,000 Moet & Chandon Imperial minis and 500 Grand Vintage 2002 magnums will be served on both the red carpet and inside the ballroom totalling over 9,000 glasses of Moet & Chandon enjoyed during one of Hollywood’s biggest nights.

Tasting Notes:

A blend of 51% Chardonnay, 26% Pinot Noir and 23% Pinot Meunier

A good white creamy mousse. Pale gold with very fine and persistent bead. The nose displays aromas of toasted brioche, yeast lees, citrus and some baked bread. Creamy in texture the palate exhibits refined flavours of toast, citrus, biscuit and yeast lees. Clean crisp finish with long aftertaste of toast, yeast lees and brioche.

The 2002 Grand Vintage Champagne has been awarded 93 points by Wine Spectator magazine in its recent issue.
