Holiday Cocktails: The rise of TikTok Mixologists

An increasing number of mixologists are taking to TikTok to share videos on how to make popular cocktails, add new ones, and entertain while bars remain shut down.

In finding another way to channel their craft, TikTok mixologists are teaching people how to make holiday cocktails, in the safety of their own home!

Some of these videos should come with a “safety warning”, as glasses of alcohol are lit on fire and bottles are tossed into the air by “flair bartenders” showing off their skills.

This new form of drinks mixing is becoming more of a performance than a service, as no drink arrives at your table by the end of the video.

With Christmas on the way and Covid cases on the rise, who wouldn’t want a how-to video on making your own Peppermint Martini in a glass rimmed with crushed candy canes?

This is Vegas at its best – you are instantly greeted with hundreds of brightly coloured cocktails. Click onto any of them and you’ll be given clear instructions on how to make colourful concoctions. No classics here, just contemporary drinks that you can make at home. 795.5 followers

Armeta Sidhu’s cocktail account is packed full of delicious step-by-step recipes. With 88.4k subscribers, Armeta shows you how to make a number of classic drinks.

This is a great resource for those just starting on their cocktail mixing journey.  Tik Tok videos are short, concise and easy to follow and give you the confidence to try new things, or just want to perfect the classics, these accounts should help you mix up some holiday magic!

Perrier-Jouët launches eco-friendly gift box for the holiday season

After two years in development, Champagne house Perrier-Jouët just launched a new range of fully recyclable, eco-friendly gift boxes in perfect timing for the festive period.

The boxes will now be used to house its classic, non-vintage Champagnes, including Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut, Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé and Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs.

The project follows two years of research and development in order to deliver packaging that merges “a minimalist aesthetic with a focus on sustainability”.

The white boxes are made from natural fibre, sourced from certified sustainable forests in northern Europe, and are embossed with water-based ink, which is free from mineral oils.

The eco gift box collection is available globally through various retailers, including, in the UK, through Fortnum & Mason (RRP: £47.50).

Perrier-Jouët is aiming to make its entire gifting offer fully sustainable by 2022. It has already introduced recyclable shipping cases that are made from grass paper.

Séverine Frerson, cellar master at Maison Perrier-Jouët, said: “For more than two centuries, Maison Perrier-Jouët has maintained a symbiotic relationship with nature which we are incredibly proud of.

“Our founders, Pierre-Nicolas Perrier and Rose-Adélaïde Jouët, were renowned for their keen interest in botany and for their progressive ideas on natural viticulture. Today, nature remains at the very heart of the House, and has provided the inspiration for this exquisite gift-box collection.”

Château Montrose Bicentenary Case Sells at Auction

To mark the launch of the Bicentenary case, Château Montrose entrusted the sale of case No. 1/200, to Hart Davis Hart Wine’s online “Finest & Rarest Wine Auction”. The auction took place on Saturday 24 October, with bidding closing at $24,000. The winning bidder, a collector from United States, will also be enjoying a memorable experience during a private stay at Château Montrose.

The bicentenary custom-designed case is a true “cabinet of curiosities” with a limited edition of 200 to celebrate our 200th anniversary. Inside are three numbered bottles in a rare 2-liter format: The 2014, 2016, and of course the 2015 bicentenary vintage, reflecting three rich and varied expressions of the Montrose terroir.  The case encompasses a cigar box and games compartment, which offers two decks of cards, two sets of dice, a set of dominoes, backgammon,150 casino chips as well as a humidifier and hygrometer.

2020 CMA [Canadian Marketing Association] Awards – Judging Commences Today

I’m thrilled to participate as a Judge in this year’s CMA Awards in the Business Impact Discipline.

2020 shows another record number of entries. Judging commences today across six disciplines: brand building, business impact, customer experience, engagement, innovative media and martech. Within each discipline, entries compete with campaigns in one of nine categories (automotive, business, consumer products, consumer services, financial, food & beverage, health care, retail and social causes). In addition, nominations are accepted for Marketer of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award, and a select panel of judges select the Top Cause and Best of the Best winners, from the top entries across their respective disciplines and categories.

This November, the CMA Awards Gala will be virtual. The marketing community loves to celebrate. Stay tuned for further details!
