The Les Dames d’Escoffier Ontario (Canada) Chapter created “Women in Wine Talks ™” as an online platform to promote women in the wine industry. Women in Wine Talks includes virtual online conversations, talks, and panel discussions on all aspects of the industry.

Women in Wine Talks ™ shine the spotlight on global women business leaders, winemakers, authors and other industry experts, with participants ranging from beginners through to wine professionals.

The Les Dames d’Escoffier Ontario (Canada) Chapter launched spring 2019, and is fully dedicated to supporting women leadership, providing educational opportunities and hosting philanthropic events in the wine, culinary and hospitality fields. Our members not only share knowledge among colleagues, we support talented young women as they aspire to become the leaders of tomorrow in their chosen professions, through our impactful scholarship program.

The first in our series of Women in Wine Talks ™ includes a talk and tasting with Elizabeth Gabay MW. Elizabeth is one of the world’s foremost authorities on rosé wines, the author of ‘Rosé: Understanding the Pink Wine Revolution’, and President of the Jury at International Rosé Challenge.

One Billion Steps Challenge for Breast Cancer Research! [Breast Cancer Society of Canada]

For nearly 30 years, thousands of walkers have joined us at our Annual Mother’s Day Walks, powered by Cleo. This year, things are different, so rather than getting together, we’re inviting everyone to take part in the One Billion Steps Challenge for Breast Cancer Research every day in May.

“It’s an opportunity to do something good for yourself while doing something to help prevent 14 Canadian women from dying of breast cancer every day,” said Kimberly Carson, CEO of the Breast Cancer Society of Canada. She continues, “It’s important now more than ever to remain active for both our physical and mental health. We encourage everyone to get active throughout May – and to get your steps in however it’s right for you. You can be inside in your living room, or in your backyard – wherever it is safe for you.”

Together We Will Reach One Billion Steps!

Everyone is invited to register at mothersdaywalk.ca and have their steps count towards the One Billion Steps Goal! We have some great exercise videos and incentives to motivate everyone to get active throughout May – whether walking, stepping, exercising or dancing.

CEO of Cleo, Lisa Hryciuk is taking the One Billion Steps Challenge, challenging her colleagues to do 20,000 steps every day in May. “It’s a big goal, but there’s work to do – more than 26,000 Canadians are diagnosed with breast cancer every year! Cleo is proud to have supported the Breast Cancer Society of Canada and its mission to save lives through breast cancer research for 18 years.”

The Breast Cancer Society of Canada has partnered with GenWin to provide the One Billion Steps Challenge. “Once registered, participants will receive a link to download a mobile app which will track steps and fundraising progress. It’s easy to invite friends and family to support you or to challenge them to participate,” said Moody Hashem, CEO of GenWin.

We’re challenging all Canadians to join the One Billion Steps Challenge to help save lives through breast cancer research!

“Wine Women” holds its first annual conference November 5th at Buena Vista Winery, California

Wine Women will hold its first annual conference on November 5th at Buena Vista Winery in Sonoma, Calif. The day-long event will offer five interactive sessions, led by the corporate training team from G3 Sonoma. Major events sponsor, Boisset Collection will also be hosting and providing lunch and wine. The event is open to the industry and public.

Attendees should expect a day of engaging and thought-provoking sessions that foster learning and growth. Each of the five conference sessions provides hands-on opportunities to stretch and master various communication skills.

Prioritizing self-care
Courageous conversations
Leadership presence
Getting sparked – Building bridges to stronger relationships

I’m soooo excited! I’ve just been elected to the board of Fédération Internationale des Journalistes et Ecrivains du Vin et des Spiritueux (FIJEV) at a meeting held today at Vinexpo – Bordeaux!

The International Federation of Wine and Spirit Journalist and Writers/Fédération Internationale des Journalistes et Écrivains des Vins et Spiritueux (FIJEV) is a French non-profit association created in 1987 and is based in Paris. Its goal is to promote contacts between wine journalists and writers all over the world and to defend their profession.
