This is one of my favorite events of the year!  Wine lovers around the world raise a flute or two to the quintessential wine of celebration.

The eighth annual “Global Champagne Day” takes place this year October 20, 2017.  Its exclusively a global social media event.

Here are some ideas to celebrate this unique sparkling wine that only comes from the region of Champagne, France.

Pop a bottle of champagne
Simply open a bottle of Champagne and enjoy a glass with the people who make your life special.

“Our delicious Cognac is distilled on lees in small pot stills, then aged in oak barrels built by our own cooper, finally, after slow aging, our master blender perfects the finial liquid which is filled into our iconic bottles.”

Following the presentation, an exclusive tasting of three different styles with the Damien Bertrand, Commercial Director of of De Luze Cognac.  Damien was born in Cognac and son of a winegrower. He in town for this special presentation!

The maceration on the skins for three days provides this glorious pink color with tinges of orange; displays aromas of raspberry, red currant, cherry and citrus; on the palate – intense fruit flavors, fresh; it opens up providing an impression of plunging into a basket of freshly picked strawberries, Morello cherries and raspberries; beautifully rounded and long finish – it’s truly a gastronomic Champagne!

Alcohol:         13.9%

This wine exhibits a deep ruby color with promising aromas of red cherry, blackberry and red pepper with some hints of spice; in the mouth, it offers multi-layers flavors of berries, plums, cherries with hints of blood orange and exotic spice; nicely focused finish.
